There were lots of compelling observations in this interview with Esther Perel in The Times towards changing societal attitudes and expectations around sex. There’s a particular focus on Gen Z and how they are having less sex than previous generations. She connects this to the fact that they drink less and take fewer risks. More broadly, she reflects on how the impact of frictionless technology, isolation, and connection to AIs, can all affect desire.
