This site is about empowering people to make the most of their lives. The daily posts are there to inspire and equip people to maximise their potential and live life fully alive. I am passionate about helping people live an awakened life. A life where we unleash our uniqueness.
There is no such thing as normal. Each of us is a one of a kind. And, as a result, there is no one path that we can all take to becoming all that we can possibly be.
That is what frustrates me about so much self-help material. It’s like the authors of these self-help books have managed to turn their lives into a success and they then think that if everyone else does exactly what they did, then they too will have a success. Rubbish. Don’t waste your money on this nonsense.
There are no seven steps to success. There are no short cuts to a life of meaning and significance. If we want to build the life of our dreams, a life that is about holisic, interdependent success, then it will take time and effort. And it will take you making decisions and choices and walking a path that no one else has ever walked.
The truth is that many of us want the short cuts though. That’s why we buy the self-help books. Even when it doesn’t work, we still go looking for another one because that may be ‘the one’.
Give up already. Give up on easy, safe, cloned, entirely self-orientated supposed pathways to your success. Stop trying to mimic somebody else’s success. Be yourself. Discover your own strengths, passions, abilities, and pathway. And never forgot that you are not an island. We are all connected. Anything that is built upon the dehumanising of others is not success.
There is no such thing as a one man success story. True success can only ever happen within the context of others around us. Never forget this. Every person you trample on in pursuit of your ’success’ is actually a step away from maximising your potential in the long term.
What pathway are you on at the moment? Your own or someone else’s?
